Overview

ThaiClick is a Chrome extension that helps users learn Thai by clicking words on webpages. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

What We Collect

ThaiClick stores the following data locally on your device:

• Vocabulary Data: Thai words you save, along with their definitions, status (learning/known), and review statistics
• Settings: Your preferences for highlighting, hover behavior, and keyboard shortcuts
• Usage Statistics: Basic counts like total words saved, words marked as known, and total clicks (stored locally only)

Optional Cloud Sync (Requires Sign-In)

If you choose to sign in with Google, the following data is synced to our cloud service (Supabase):

• Vocabulary Data: Your saved words and SRS progress sync across devices
• Basic Profile: Email, display name, and avatar from your Google account

You can use ThaiClick without signing in. All features work locally without cloud sync.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT track your browsing history
• We do NOT store the content of pages you visit
• We do NOT use analytics or tracking services
• We do NOT sell or share any data with third parties
• We do NOT collect data from users who don't sign in

Data Storage

Local Storage

• Vocabulary and statistics are stored using Chrome's local storage
• Settings are stored using Chrome's sync storage, which allows your preferences to sync across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome
• All local data remains under your control and can be exported or deleted at any time

Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you sign in with Google:

• Vocabulary data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL database)
• Audio files are served from Supabase Storage
• Data is protected by Row Level Security - only you can access your data
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest

Authentication

ThaiClick uses Google OAuth for optional sign-in:

• We only request basic profile information (email, name, avatar)
• We do NOT request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, or other Google services
• Authentication is handled securely through Supabase
• You can sign out at any time from the Settings page

Third-Party Services

Supabase (Optional - Only If Signed In)

If you sign in, we use Supabase for:

• User authentication (Google OAuth)
• Vocabulary data sync
• Audio file hosting

Stripe (Payment Processing)

If you subscribe to Premium, payments are processed by Stripe:

• We do not store your credit card information
• Stripe handles all payment data securely

Dictionary Data

The Thai-English dictionary included in this extension is sourced from:

• LEXiTRON: Thai-English Dictionary by NECTEC (National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, Thailand)
• Wiktionary: Open-source dictionary data

This dictionary data is bundled with the extension and loaded locally.

Permissions

ThaiClick requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: To save your vocabulary and settings locally
• activeTab: To highlight Thai words on the current webpage when you click on them
• identity: To enable optional Google sign-in for cloud sync

We do not request permissions beyond what is necessary for the extension to function.

Data Export and Deletion

You can:

• Export all your local data at any time from the Settings page
• Delete all your local data at any time from the Settings page
• Sign out to stop cloud sync (local data is retained)
• Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data

To delete cloud data, sign in and use the Settings page, or contact us to request deletion.

Children's Privacy

ThaiClick does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. The extension is designed as an educational tool and does not collect personal information from any users who don't sign in.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
